About

Let me introduce myself.

Carolyn Mueller

Carolyn Mueller

Hi, I’m Carolyn Mueller.

Sports and movement have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up playing competitive soccer through college — and I still play weekly here in Chicago. Movement isn’t just what I coach, it’s how I live.

Early in my career, I worked with youth athletes, directed community soccer leagues in my hometown of Badin, NC, and led strength and conditioning programs for high school teams. I also taught youth strength training and group fitness classes, including programs for individuals with developmental disabilities — an experience that shaped how I think about accessibility, patience, and individualized programming.

My passion for working with special populations deepened when I began training individuals with physical disabilities at my local YMCA. That path led me to pursue graduate education and an internship at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago). After graduate school, I returned to Chicago as Fitness Manager of their Adaptive Health and Fitness Facility, overseeing programming for five years and continuing to collaborate with their team today.

Alongside that work, I built experience in corporate fitness and high-performance environments — first at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness and later at East Bank Club, where I continue to train clients. I’ve also been part of advanced exercise testing teams, including VO₂ max and body composition assessments, and contributed to performance testing for the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Wolves hockey players.

Today, my work centers around helping working professionals, executives, and busy individuals build structured, sustainable strength programs that fit into real life. Many of the people I work with don’t need more motivation — they need clarity, direction, and a plan that evolves with them.

Through Carolyn Mueller Fitness, I provide in-person, virtual, and online coaching, as well as wellness and exercise consultations through Northwestern Executive Health. I also continue to work with individuals navigating injuries, chronic conditions, and life transitions — because strength should be accessible at every stage.

Whether you're rebuilding after an injury, optimizing performance, or simply trying to feel stronger and more capable in your day-to-day life, my goal is the same:

To meet you where you are and build a plan that moves you forward with confidence.
